When one thinks of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, this is the image that comes to mind

Portrait of Toyotomi Hideyoshi Momoyama period/the 5th year of Keicho era(1600)

This portrait of Toyotomi Hideyoshi has an inscription written in 1600 by the Zen monk Ikyo Eitetsu of Tofukuji Temple. The inscription reads “Image of Toyokuni Daimyojin,” indicating that the painting is an image of the already deified Hideyoshi. The silk used for this painting is different from ordinary painting silk, since the strands are twisted into strong, coarse threads. It is possible that silk belonging to Hideyoshi was used for the painting. The unifier of Japan and the man who built Osaka Castle, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, known as “Taiko-han,” is a major historical figure for the people of Osaka.
