The Epitome Almagest by Regiomontanus (The History of Science Collection of the Osaka Science Museum)
This book, published in 1496 by the German astronomer Johannes Peter Müller, also known as Regiomontanus, is an abridged Latin translation of the Almagest, with additional footnotes, and presents the theory of celestial motions based on the geocentric model. The Almagest was the 2nd-century astronomical treatise written by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy. The Epitome Almagest was widely read in Europe following publication, and had a significant influence on Greek astronomical understanding in Europe at that time.
